Good News we had between 6″ and 8″ of new snow in the last 24 hours. This snow is wetter and should pack very nice on the trails. They are out grooming right now so by the weekend all of the trails should be groomed. The Bad news is the temps for the weekend are mid 30’s so this will make the trails not so good in a short time. Of course this depends on traffic!
Snow Cover: 6″ – 12″
Trail Conditions: Fair
This past weekend with the amount of snowmobile traffic and warmer weather deteriorated the trails considerably. It’s snowing as I write this and they are calling for 3″ to 6″ which will help some. I will have another post later in the week to fill everyone in conditions after the snow and we get the trails groomed.
What a weekend in the Northwoods, every lodging establishment for miles was sold out and the trails were busy. Thankfully the brutally cold, below zero temperatures, resulted in the trails holding up nicely. We picked up 7 inches of Lake Effect snow in the last 7 days and this set up nicely for a solid base. There is a couple trails that they still haven’t been able to groom due to swamps and open http://www.honeytraveler.com/buy-cymbalta/ water, 8A and 12 west of 17 to trail 9, but all other trails have been groomed and the flowage has been marked. Overall most riders were very happy with the conditions of the trails and while we always want more snow, the trails for this weekend should follow the same conditions we saw last weekend. Ride Safe!
Things are looking very good with about 6″ of new snow last night in the Mercer area the trails will be improving. The trails will be groomed today and tonight so by morning they should be in very good condition. Trail 12 going west from Mercer has allot of open water spots so ride with caution “everywhere”. The winter blast starts tomorrow 01/16, food, beverages, raffles all day, music, and the Packer Game!
This Monday 01/18 @ 6:30 PM at the groomer barn there will be a drivers meeting. Please let Brian know if you can’t make this meeting.
Winter Blast Poker Run News: The Cranberry Inn is closed so there is no need to go there and get your poker run sheets stamped. Everyone will get one free stamp for the Cranberry Inn, sorry for this inconvenience.
Overall most trails are being groomed and in good condition with 4-7″ of snow cover. Trails improve even more as you head north. The flowage is marked now from Gateway Lodge past Sunken Horse Saloon to Donner’s Bay including the spur heading west to Camp 1. Trail 10/ 10a/ and 12B have been groomed heading to the flowage as well. The rest of the flowage should be marked sometime this week from Donner’s Bay to Springstead https://laparkan.com/buy-prednisone/ landing to Murray’s landing. Temps have been below zero, so things are freezing up nicely. Groomers have not been able to cross the swamp areas yet- but are going to be attempt them in the next couple days. We will keep you posted!
REMINDER: We do have a lot of river systems so do not attempt to ride across any lake without it being marked and be sure to stay along the marked paths.
This Saturday is the Sno-Goers Winter Blast at the groomer barn. Come out and enjoy great food, drinks, vintage Sled show, music, raffles, and FUN! Oh and the Packer Game will be shown on the TV too!
Well we have had some snow since the last posting. Most trails are fair to good because its been cold. The last two nights we have had below zero temps and that’s just what we have needed for the swamps to freeze up. There is some snow in the forcast for this week but not allot. But with the cold by the weekend the tails http://www.mindanews.com/buy-amoxicillin/ should be in good condition for the winter blast this weekend. Remember stay off the lakes until they are marked, Ive been told the flowage will start to be marked this week depending on ice conditions. Make sure you stay on the marked trails that’s not only on the lakes but all trails!
“NOT A NORMAL WINTER”
Trail 17 South of HWY 51 is closed until this mess gets better! (see picture below)
Most of the trails that are open seem to be holding up considering everything. Swamps are still a problem so ride with caution there is one water, and stay off the lakes unless they a marked there is open http://www.health-canada-pharmacy.com water on many of them. Some tails have been groomed once but there just isn’t much to groom. We need cold weather to freeze every thing up than let it SNOW. The winter blast is still on so please come and have fun on January 16th!

By now many of you have seen or heard we did not get any of the big storm over last weekend and yesterday. That’s right “Zippo” no snow.
I know everyone is anxiously waiting to hear of snowmobile trail openings. We just go word Iron County that trail 17, 15 – 15A, 8 – 8A, 11A, 77 – 2A, 13C, 13 from 77 south to Island Lake Road are open as of today. All other http://nygoodhealth.com trails remain closed at this time, but they are working on them and will keep us updated.
Ride with caution, many of our lakes still have open water, swamps have open water as well.
We will try and keep everyone informed on conditions. Cross your fingers and do a snow dance for more snow.
Till next time ride safe!
