The Iron County snowmobile trail system will officially open on Tuesday December 9th at 7am. Trail conditions vary widely throughout the county with early season riding conditions as the clubs and Forestry Dept work to get all trails in safe, rideable condition.
Trail 17 and trail 8 are currently open from the Mercer area and the Mercer Area Sno-goers are working diligently to get the rest of their system open after the devastating snows. Watch for updates directly from them as they continue their work.
Trails in the White Thunder Riders area in northern Iron Co are mostly open other than the marsh trails which are also being worked. Watch for updates from them on conditions as well.
The Forestry Dept. Is working on trail 7 today and it should be groomed tomorrow or Wednesday morning.
Stay off of water. The ice is not safe at this time.
Thank you to the wonderful club members and all of the volunteers who came and helped get the trees and brush cleared. There is still more work to be done so reach out to the clubs if you can give them a hand.
Welcome to the 2025-26 snowmobile season and as always, ride right, ride safe, and ride sober.
